Through her next three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017), the popularity of Swift grew, and she found herself in the world of pop music where it was clear that she deserved to be. When she reduced her sound to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore and Evermore, she still remained in the top spot. The position was defended through re-recordings of her previous catalog as in Midnights, her synth-heavy chart-topping 2022 album.
